Yay. End of NBA season!
My All-NBA First
Dwight Howard
Kevin Love
LeBron James
Kobe Bryant
Chris Paul
Second
Andrew Bynum
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin Durant
Dwayne Wade
Steve Nash
Third
Roy Hibbert
Tim Duncan (Josh Smith has chance for debate here IMO)
Danilo Gallinari (Andre Iguodala)
Joe Johnson
Tony Parker
My reasons: Dwight has been Dwight, no matter how many times Andrew Bynum this or that. Kobe draws too much attention and your second big man can't run of doubling Bynum when there's a Pau Gasol on the loose. Dwight on the other hand is just, dominant. Roy Hibbert is there 'cos of the improvement he made and his contribution to a Pacers surge this season to the team instead of a good man to man post game that Al Jefferson has. Defensively, he tops Big Al. It's All NBA anyway, not All offensive NBA. TBH, Roy Hibbert is there simply because there are too few good true centers nowadays.
Carmelo played a lot of PF for Knicks and he dominated that post in MSG. But Kevin Love's bullshit early in the season and past Rubio's injury really made him take that spot. I would have put Carmelo up there but Kevin Love is the true PF around here. When he plays, he's been putting up MVP shit on the court, that Tim Duncan. He doesn't have to dominate the ball to be effective. Main point, TIMMY IS BACK!
Small forward, LeBron is there for his bulldozing take-over ways. Not saying KD isn't taking over, it's just that LBJ is the better play maker but with almost equal scoring punch. Gallo is third because Melo was listed earlier =D
As for SGs, Kobe played more, turned back the clock, carried a lifeless Lakers and simply dragged the early season Zombie Lakers to wins. Dwayne Wade just got injured too much. Joe Johnson is given credit for the way Atlanta continued despite losing Al Horford. We are talking Al Horford here.
Pointguards wise, I hate it that I can't put Derrick Rose there. He's my second favourite player after Kobe! But CP3 changed Clippers, was the only reason Clippers are in the playoffs (ok seriously, who thinks Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Mo Will can pull them into 4th-5th seed?) Blake has a bullshit post game and DeAndre Jordan can't carry offensively. Steve Nash is there for the fantastic season he put up that this rickety old age with that, team? Tony Park made a push and secure this slot as he came back with Timmy. Might have been on my second team, if not for the way Steve Nash only had an old Grant Hill and a Marcin Gortat to work with.
MVP goes to LeBron. Hate it that Kobe isn't getting this in my list but this should be Lebron's year. 07 shoulda been Kobe's year. And 09 too, in my opinion with LeBron close. But this season, LeBron is doing every shit from pointguard to powerforward. Defensively, he locks down like crazy, except that perimeter defense don't generally gets you blocked shots, but it helps your post players get block shots.
Defensive player of the year - LeBron James. Yes, maybe it's the Howard Fatigue they mentioned, but Tyson Chandler? Must all defensive players be centers? Lockdown D the way LBJ plays it is to be admired. Blocked shots are not the only shit that matters on defense.
Sixth Man should be James Harden, though I felt that Mo Williams was close. The way Harden was unleashed with the second unit and often with Russell Westbrook is scary. Again, a player who can and doesn't need to dominate the ball.
